A Brief History Of English PFA Merit Award

At the end of every English football season the members of the PFA, the players union, vote on which of its members has played the best football in the previous year, at this time the PFA Merit Award is also given to a person or persons who have made an outstanding contribution to football. First given in 1974 this prestigious award is like a who's who of british and world football.
