
![]() A Brief History Of Lingfield Derby Trial The Lingfield Derby Trial is a Group 3 flat horse race for three-year-old thoroughbred colts and geldings run over a distance of 1 mile 3 furlongs and 106 yards (2,310 metres) at Lingfield Park Racecourse in May. It is one of nine recognised trial races for the Epsom Derby, and the undulating, left-handed course at Lingfield bears a close resemblance to the course at Epsom.
