Opened in 1922 as a road course and a paved oval, which has long been disused, Monza is a truly fast track that remains and although the original banking is no longer used (it is still visible) speeds of 300km/h (185mph) are reached. The super high-speed nature of the track has been slightly tamed over the years with the straights now interspersed with chicanes.
