Leopardstown Racecourse

Leopardstown Racecourse hosts 22 racemeetings throughout the year, providing a mixture of National Hunt and Flat fixtures. The four-day Christmas Festival at the end of December and The Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup in February are the highlights of the National Hunt season.

The most prestigious Flat races are The Independent Waterford Wedgwood Phoenix Stakes in August and The Ireland The Food Island Irish Champion Stakes – part of the Emirates World Series Racing Championship, which is run in September each year.

Racing at Leopardstown is a popular and effective vehicle for corporate sponsors. All of the major National Hunt and Flat races are sponsored – The Pierse Hurdle, The AIG Europe Champion Hurdle, The Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup, The Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial, The Independent Waterford Wedgwood Phoenix Stakes and The Ireland The Food Island Irish Champion Stakes. In December, The Denny Gold Medal Novice Chase, The paddypower.com Handicap Chase and The Ericsson Chase are an integral part of the four-day Christmas Festival.
