Epsom Downs is home to the Vodafone Derby – the original and ultimate test over the unique mile and a half course on the first Saturday in June. The season continues with the fantastic Epsom Live! series of four evening meetings featuring live racing and live music!

By Road
Epsom Downs is two miles south of Epsom on the B290 Tadworth Road. If travelling on the M25, take either junction 8 or 9 where AA signposts direct you to the course. You will find coloured signage near to the course directing you to the appropriate car park - we recommend you book car-parking in advance for the Vodafone Derby Meeting.
By Rail
From London Waterloo or London Victoria take a train to Epsom where buses and taxis will take you to the course. Alternatively Tattenham Corner Station is a 1/2 mile walk from the course.

Betting
There are Tote and bookmaking facilities around the course
Parking
At most racemeetings there is ample parking available and at many fixtures, it is free of charge. It is advised that you pre-book your parking space in advance for the Vodafone Derby meeting by contacting the racecourse
Children
At most racedays, accompanied children under the age of 16 will be admitted free of charge (except in the Queen’s Stand). This excludes the Vodafone Derby Meeting and the Epsom Live! series
Disabled
Ramps, lifts and toilets are all available.

Queen’s Stand
Tickets:
£18-£23 (£50 Vodafone Oaks Day).
Food And Drink
It offers bars, cold snacks and seafood as well as the popular Blue Riband Restaurant. Advance booking is essential
Viewing
The Queen's Stand was opened in 1992 and provides the best views and facilities on the course and is located opposite the winning post. It offers access to the Parade Ring and the opportunity to welcome the victorious horses returning to the Winner’s Enclosure.
Dress
Either black or grey Morning Dress with a top hat, or service dress is traditional and obligatory for gentlemen on Derby Day. Ladies are asked to wear formal day dress, or a trouser suit, with a hat.
Grandstand
Tickets:
£11-£19 (£27 Oaks Day; £33 Derby Day). Seats are priced at £35 for Vodafone Derby Day. Contact the racecourse for reservations
Food And Drink
There are a number of bars as well as catering facilities including the Café Normandie offering hot and cold food.
Viewing
Located along the finishing straight, the Grandstand terraces afford good views of the racing and the Downs. As access to the Parade Ring and the Bookmakers are close to hand it is a particularly good area for groups. It is also possible to reserve a seat in this area. Please contact the racecourse for booking.
Dress
Smart shorts and jeans are accepted but no bare tops or singlets. Many people in this Enclosure like to dress up for the Vodafone Derby Meeting but it is not a requirement
The Lonsdale Enclosure

£5 in July and August; £11 Derby meeting; Free in April, September and October

There are a number of fast food catering options in this Enclosure
Viewing
This Enclosure has one of the best locations on course, opposite the Queen's Stand next to the Winning Post
Dress
The Hill
Tickets:
£10 - £15 for car parking. Pedestrians go free.
Food And Drink
You can drive your car or coach onto the Hill and picnic with your own provisions or purchase food and drink from the many catering outlets located around the Enclosure
Viewing
This is the grassed expanse in the centre of the course. It is very much the heart of the party with an "anything goes" atmosphere. It has toilet facilities and authorized betting areas nearby

Effect Of Draw
High numbers best over 5f and 6f, low numbers best from 7f to 1m 2f.



Left-handed, U-shaped course of 1m4f with steep undulations. 3 1/2f run-in with pronounced camber, initially downhill, rising in final furlong. Races up to 8 1/2f essentially sharp, particularly on 5f track, which is the fastest in the world
