Travel Information Local Transport Links By Road Great Leighs is five miles north of Chelmsford, on the A131. From M11, exit junction 8 (Stansted) and follow A120 in Colchester direction. Exit Panners roundabout (Braintree) and follow brown tourist signs to A131/Great Leighs. From A12, exit Boreham interchange and follow A130/A131 in direction of Sudbury/Colchester. The racecourse site is directly off the new A131 Great Leighs by-pass, north of Great Leighs village. By Rail To Chelmsford (27min) from Liverpool Street. Bus shuttles to the racecourse will operate on race-days. Railway Station Cressing Railway Station 2.8 miles (4.5 km) Airport Stansted 12.3 miles (19.8 km) By Air Helicopters may land on our adjacent site by prior arrangement. The nearest facility for private aeroplanes is Stansted Map and Route Finder Directions and route plan will be displayed on the google maps pages, from here you can print, email and save the map. |
Great Leighs Racecourse Facilities Betting Traditional betting rings and totepool booths will be supplemented by a sports betting hall at the rear of the main concourse. With three giant screens and high-definition pictures, the hall will be open everyday of the year, with special events built around non-racing events Parking Great Leighs has a free parking policy. Children Great Leighs will play a major role in servicing British racing as a floodlit track, but family days are planned during the spring and summer months, when appropriate facilities and entertainments will be provided for children of all ages. Disabled It will be access all areas for disabled racegoers. Great Leighs will meet all the latest legislation, and the spiral ramps for wheelchair users at both ends have become a design feature of the grandstand. |
Great Leighs Racecourse Enclosures And Grandstands Club and Grandstand Tickets: £ Food And Drink Great Leighs has signed a 20-year deal with Sodexho Prestige Ltd to be food and beverage provider. Great Leighs will have 40 large hospitality boxes with balconies, a 750-seater, tiered dine and view restaurant, a fine dining restaurant open all year round, and a variety of bars and food on-the-hoof outlets throughout the building, notably in the spiral features at both ends. Viewing The Great Leighs grandstand is designed to provide high quality hospitality, whether in a private box or in the Hospitality restaurant. Every hospitality area in the stand offers great views over the track and parade rings. You and your guests will be close enough to really soak up the race day atmosphere. Dress All racegoers are encouraged to dress smartly. In most enclosures, jeans and trainers are not allowed. |
