Travel Information Local Transport Links By Road From the south, bypass Newcastle on the A1. The course is in High Gosforth Park, 3 miles north of the city centre. From the north, take the Junction signposted Wideopen. From the east, take the A19 and A1056. Then follow the Tourist Board brown signs bearing a horse and jockey. By Rail From London Kings Cross, take the Great North Eastern service to Newcastle Central. The station is four miles from the course and just 15 minutes in a taxi. Newcastle’s underground Metro runs to Regent Centre where free buses run to the course on racedays Railway Station Cramlington Railway Station 3.7 miles (5.9 km) Airport Newcastle 3.1 miles (5 km) By Air Newcastle International Airport is only 10 minutes by car from Newcastle Racecourse. Helicopters are permitted to land at the racecourse by prior arrangement with the estate management. Newcastle Racecourse Facilities Betting There are Tote and bookmaker facilities around the course. Parking There is free parking available Children Children 16 and under allowed in for free when accompanied by an adult. On weekend and bank holiday fixtures there is a funfair available and additional activities for family entertainment. Disabled Ramps, lifts and disabled facilities are available in both Enclosures |
Newcastle Racecourse Enclosures And Grandstands Premier Tickets: £16. Prices for Festivals vary Food And Drink The Gosforth Park Suite Restaurant. Private box facilities available for daily hire. There are also food outlets in the Colonel Porter Grandstand. Viewing The Colonel Porter Grandstand looks directly over the Winner’s Enclosure, the Parade Ring and the Winning Post. You can also access all other areas of the course Dress There is a strict dress code in this Enclosure. In Brandling House gentlemen are required to wear dress trousers and collared shirts as a minimum standard. No denim, trainers or informal attire is permitted in this area and racegoers who choose not to observe the dress code will be asked to leave Brandling House. Grandstand and Paddock Tickets: £11. Prices for Festivals vary. Food And Drink On the ground floor of the Grandstand there are various fast food outlets and bars, including the Picnic Basket with sandwiches, confectionary and snacks. The Nosebag provides chips, burgers and hot sandwiches and the family food hall has a self service restaurant serving both hot and cold meals. There are also terrace areas for picnics. Viewing The course and Parade Ring can be seen from viewing terraces Dress Informal attire is acceptable although the removal of shirts is not permitted |
